The SA Human Rights Commission has published a booklet called “Towards a barrier-free society – What every South African should know about disability rights”. The purpose is to assist to develop a culture of human rights and to educate citizens about human rights. It also provides information on acceptable and unacceptable terminology. The rights of disabled employees are protected by the Employment Equity Act and the “Code of Good Practice on the employment of people with disabilities”.
